Thermos Lunch

If you are a regular user of a thermos flask or a thermos water bottle, you understand the pain of cleaning it. If your thermos bottle is good to use with a dishwasher, you are lucky that you save a lot of time. If your thermos is not dishwasher compatible, you would need to spend a lot of time in cleaning it. Some thermos flask will be so delicate that you should handle it with optimal care.

Here are simple tips to help you clean thermos flask and thermos bottle with a narrow mouth. It is most recommended to use a bottle brush for cleaning a thermos flask / bottle.

Prepare a soap solution with a small amount of vinegar(normally used as a food preservative) and fill the thermos flask / bottle with this prepared soap solution completely and keep it for about half an hour. After that, reduce the bottle content to almost half, close the lid air tight and shake it well for about 3-5 minutes. Pour the soap water to some container and wash the bottle with normal water. Add a small amount of soap water and use the bottle brush to clean the bottle. Some flasks need to be handled with optimal care, make sure you are handling yours properly.

Stainless steel thermos bottles are easy to handle, use and clean as they are not delicate.

Pour the soap liquid back to bottle and shake well. Repeat the process with normal water to see your bottle is now clean. Now you can use a smooth cotton cloth pushed till the end of the bottle to clean it from water content. You can make use of a long metalloic/wooden scale for turning the cloth to reach every part of the bottle. Otherwise you can use a hair dryer or vacuum cleaner for the same purpose. Keep the bottle open for drying if any water content is still left.
